Meanwhile, students at the Tulane University School of Medicine weren’t left out of the enriching experience. A total of 157 students successfully matched with programs across 25 different states. Among them, 17.8%, or 28 students, chose to stay rooted in Louisiana, emphasizing the growing trend of students wanting to remain close to home. Next up, at LSU Health in New Orleans, 188 medical students matched as nearly half plan to extend their journeys in residency within the state.
Even the University of Queensland-Ochsner got in on the action, with 65 students matching this year, and a commendable 22% intending to stay in Louisiana. In a particularly noteworthy achievement, the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Monroe boasted a perfect 100% match rate, with all 30 students planning to continue their medical training right at home.
